Bluegrass Cash

was founded by Martin Voogd, who visits the Cologne Bluegrass Bash Jam regularly. Listening to the various artists playing he was inspired to start a Johnny Cash Tribute Band playing Cash songs in a Bluegrass Style.

At the Bash he met Paul Bremen, who is not only an originator of the session, but a perfect fiddle and mandolin player and singer and Martin shared his plans with him. They agreed to form a project and give it a try.

They asked Rainer, who is also a regular member of the session and plays the Bassfiddle in an authentic rockabilly style which fits the Bluegrass Cash sound like a glove. He was fascinated by the project and the idea of a Bluegrass Style Johnny Cash Tribute Band.

When Steffen showed up at the Jam with his virtuos banjo playing, he was asked as well. Adding the very special sound and Steffens enthusiasm was the final milestone: BluegrassCash was born.

This was on the 4th of July.

America and the rest of the World celebrates from now on not only Independence Day, but another memoriable day, the birth of Bluegrass Cash.
